A great way to find out if Desert Academy is the right school for you is to plan a visit. You could spend the day with a current student, attend a open house, have coffee with the Head of School or schedule an individual tour.
“We appreciate the kind, inclusive, globally-minded community that you foster at Desert Academy. We truly feel welcome at your school and believe this is an environment where our child can thrive. The atmosphere is palpably different from other schools we have visited and we value the attention you place on developing well-rounded, respectful, caring students. We feel that Desert will engage our child in learning by encouraging his intellectual curiosity, while also providing a safe, supportive space for him to blossom as an individual”

Wine and Cheese Informal Open House: Wednesday May. 15, 2019, 6:00-8:00pm
This is our spring version of what we offer in the fall, but more casual with time to chat with our Head of School, faculty, staff and some current students, while enjoying wine and cheese (and student beverages/snacks)! We'll keep it relaxed and conversational, while also having some short presentations from student groups and department heads. This is the perfect opportunity learn about the International Baccalaureate program and see why Desert Academy is the #1 ranked Private School in Santa Fe by Niche.com. This event is open to the public.
Families are encouraged to start the Admissions process with an informational tour of the campus and an opportunity to discuss your child’s individual educational needs. Contact the Office of Admissions directly at 505.501.7978 or firstname.lastname@example.org in order to schedule a campus tour.
By appointment. Parents of prospective students are invited to join our Head of School, Dr. Yann Lussiez, for coffee, especially his favorite Turkish coffee, and informal conversation about Desert Academy, our educational philosophy and the ways in which we can enrich your child’s life. Fall Open House (October)
During these informative, interactive evenings each October, students will attend a variety of classes and electives and parents will attend a panel discussion with students, faculty and staff to learn what makes Desert Academy unique.
International Baccalaureate Info Nights
Several times per year, we invite families who have registered their interest with us to come to IB Info Nights. These are panel discussions with a handful of our high school students and moderated entirely by students that allow parents to get honest answers about both academic and social opportunities at Desert Academy.
Winter Admissions Night (January)
This event is designed to allow potential families to be spectators as they see our students in action. In small groups led by a staff or faculty member, families will have the opportunity to explore classrooms to see students in action. Whether it’s choir rehearsal, track practice, science experiments, an impassioned literature discussion or some work in the computer lab, you’ll have a chance to see how our students spend their days and how these activities ignite their passion for learning.
Desert Academy students are offered myriad opportunities to share their endeavors with the larger Santa Fe community through a variety of partnerships. We encourage interested families to register their interest with us in order to receive notification of these events.
